Still Life 1 - Chapter 5
Victoria's adventure takes her back to the Red Lantern and into the Special Room. In this walkthrough we cover solving the puzzle to enter this special room, including write-up, screenshots, and video.
The Painting 'Reminder' and the Dagger
After you arrive at the Red Lantern and show the doorman your pass, head into the next room. To the left as you enter (towards the top of the screen), you'll see the enterance to the Special Room. But in order to get in, you'll need a pass code. To get this code you have to get the numbers from certain paintings and objects.
First head through the doorway in the bottom right corner of the screen. From this room, you'll want to head through the door on the wall to the right. In this room you are looking for a specific painting. Find the painting called 'Reminder'.
When you look at the painting called 'Reminder' you'll see a tablet near the woman's elbow. You'll see the numbers 4 & 2 in Roman Numerals. These are the first two numbers needed to unlock the Special Room.
Once you have the first part of the code, head back through the door on the left. From here, you'll want to head up through the door at the top of the screen.
In this room, there are three things of importance, two of which are needed to open the Special Room. First look for a dagger and a sword along the wall at the top of the screen.
Look closely at the Dagger on the wall. It has the next part of the code engraved on it: the numbers 3 & 6 in Roman Numerals.
The Dark Wedding & The Complete Code
When you look closely at the painting called 'Dark Wedding' you'll see a set of Roman Numerals etched in the bottom right corner. These are the numbers 1 & 5. This is the last part of the code.
Note: In this room you will also find a Silver Mask and a Silver Nail. They are on the wall near the Dagger and are used shortly.
Head back through the door on the left once you have everything you need from this room. Then head through the door on the left. This will put you back in the room with the door to the Special Room.
Once you are back in the the room with the door, you'll need to examine it more closely to enter the code.
The Clue is:
In my memoirs
you shall find the instrument of my suffering
with which we celebrate our vows.
The Clue Means:
Reminder 4 2
Dagger 3 6
Dark Wedding 1 5
That gives us a final code of 4 2 3 6 1 5 . Enter that code and the door will open, and Victoria will head into the Special Club or Special Room.
The Red Lantern & The Special Club Wrap-Up
As soon as you've entered the code and Victoria has entered the Special part of the Red Lantern Club, you'll be confronted with the next Puzzle.
